Eastern Regional Housing Authority Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

Please note: The Eastern Regional Housing Authority (ERHA) manages individual waiting lists for the Counties of Chaves, Curry, De Baca, Eddy, Guadalupe, Harding, Lea, Lincoln, Otero, Quay, Roosevelt, and Union, NM. Please view waiting list information for each county below. We will update this page as more information becomes available.Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.For more information, call the ERHA office at (575) 622-0881 from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm; and 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

The Eddy County Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open from February 2016 until March 2016. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

1. On February 29, 2016, pick up or submit a pre-application at the New Mexico State University-Carlsbad.
2. After February 29, 2016, pick up a pre-application at the ERHA office.
3. After February 29, 2016, request a pre-application be mailed to you by writing the ERHA.

Once the pre-application has been completed, it must have been:

1. Hand delivered to the ERHA. If visiting after hours, there was a drop box outside.
2. Mailed to the ERHA. Mailed pre-applications must have been postmarked by March 14, 2016.

There were no preferences.Applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the pre-application is received.The average wait time to receive a voucher is six months to a year.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list for all other counties is currently closed. It is not known when any other waiting list was last open, or when they will reopen.
